​Pemayangtse Monastery: is one of the oldest premier monasteries of the state. Established by Lhatsum Chempo one of the Revered Lamas to have performed the consecration ceremony of the first Chogyal (Monarch) of Sikkim. The monastery located on a hill top at an altitude of 6840ft. commands a magnificent view of the Himalayan range.

Rabdentse Ruins: the second capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Sikkim, now lies hidden as ruins at a walking distance from the Pemayangtse Monastery.

Khechopalri Lake: is one of the most sacred lakes of the state. it lies hidden under a thick forest cover.
 

Yoksam: was the first capital of the erstwhile King of Sikkim, who was consecrated here in 1641 A.D. by three learned lamas. The trek to Zongri and the base camp of the famous Mt. Khangchendzonga begins here.

Tashiding Monastery: built in the 18th century A.D. Guru Padmasambhava blessed this place in the 8th century. it is also famous for the holy Chorten known as “Thong-Wa-Rang-Dol” which literally means “Saviors by mere sight”.

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: is an institute for study of Buddhist philosophy and religion with a treasure of rate Lepcha, Tibetan and Sanskrit manuscripts, statues and rare thankas.

Phensang Monastery: was first built in 1721, as this was gutted in the fire it was again built in 1948. The annual festival of Chamm is performed here.

Temi Tea Garden: is the only tea garden of the state producing very high quality of tea. It provides a magnificient view.

Samdruptse: which means the “Wish fulfilling Hill” is 72 kms. from Gangtok. A 135 ft. high unique statue of Guru Padmashambhava which is supposed to the highest in the world is installed here.

Kabi Lungchok: is 17 kms. from Gangtok, a historical treaty of blood brotherhood between the Lepcha Cheif Te Khung Tek and the Bhutia Chief Khey Bumsa was signed ritually here.

Phodong Monastery: is one of the major monasteries of Sikkim located 38 kms. from Gangtok.

Yumthang: at an altitude of 11800 ft. is a paradise for nature lovers. The valley is the home of varieties of Rhododendrons. It also has a hot spring.

Ropeway: about 1 km. long takes seven minutes. One can enjoy the panoramic view from it.

Do-Drul Chorten: built in 1945 by the Vunerable Trullshi Rimpoche head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism.

Tsomgo Lake: 38 kms. from Gangtok. This serene lake is situated at an altitude of 3780 meters and remains frozen during winter.

Khangchendzonga Tourist Villa, Ranka: In order to promote Tourism, the Govt. of Sikkim has decided to setup a, Tourist cum Socio-Cultural Amusement Park at Ranka. It is located 15 kms from Gangtok, The project comprises of 50 tourist cottages of traditional Sikkimese architecture, Villa Club with bars, restaurant, swimming pool, multi-gym, open-airtheatre, children’s park etc.

Tashi View Point: is 8kms from Gangtok. From this point a breath taking view of Mount Khangchenzonga can be seen.

Himalayan Zoological Park: is 8kms from Gangtok, also , Bulbuley. Red panda, barking deer, bears, spotted deers etc can be seen.

Hanuman Tok: about 10 kms from Gangtok is a temple of Lord Hanuman. The view of the mountains from this place is magnificient.

Ganesh Tok: is a temple of Lord Ganesh. A birds eye view of Gangtok can be seen from here.

Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre: is 24 kms. from Gangtok, is the seat of the Kagyud order and of the four major Tibetan sects. The institute has some of the world’s most unique religious scriptures.

The Aritar Lake: (Ghati-Tso) near Rhenock, about 3 hours drive from Gangtok, is worth visiting. For those interested in spending a night or two in the peaceful environment, trek-ker's huts, few lodges and a private resort are available. Other attractions are boating, visiting and exploring the lifestyle of villagers.

Nathula Pass: is 57kms. from Gangtok at an altitude of 14450 ft. bordering between India and China. Nathula is open for Indian Nationals on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom: is an institute of traditional art and craft, storehouse of hand woven woolen carpets , shawls, Choktse etc. Time 9.30 to 1500 hours.

Burtuk Water Falls: is 20 minutes drive from Gangtok. Flower Exhibition: is organised round the year at the White Hall complex. Orchids can be seen in the spring season.

Enchey Monastery: about two centuries old is 3 kms. from Gangtok. Every year Chaam or religious masked dance is performed during the month of December/January.

Chardham: Pilgrimage cum Cultural Centre, at Solophok Hill - 5 kms from Namchi Sikkim is a replica of the actual Chardham. lt has been built, in such a manner, so as to bring "Chardham" - India's Four geographically differently located Pilgrimages, together at one Place.

Ban Jhakri Falls: Located en route to Ranka and 4 kms away from Gangtok, the Ban Jhakri Falls Energy Park, lies amidst a lush green valley spread over two acres, surrounded by trees and a gushing mountain river. The Park has a shamanistic theme.
